Public Service. How about that? When you're tired of the corporate grind, producing results that matter to no one of any relevance to anyone or anything, why not try to find a role in the public sector where, at least nominally, you can Make A Difference.
The main detractor to this noble endeavor are the rampant reports of corruption, abuse and negligence, the theme of keeping one's head down and collecting excellent city benefits while counting down to retirement with the same exhuberance that a malcontent counts down to the New Year, praying that things will get better, all but certain that things can't get worse.
Are you on the left side of the line, the right side of the line, or in-between, straddling it, enjoying the vibration?
